Terms of Use
Effective from: 2026-08-30
These terms govern your use of the Duksia app and the duksia.com website (together, the “App”), published by Benjamin NGUYEN. By using the App — and in particular by publishing a place, a photo or an audio recording — you accept these terms.
User-generated content
Duksia is built on contributions from its users: places, photos and audio recordings. You remain responsible for what you publish.
By publishing, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the content, and you grant Duksia a non-exclusive right to display it in the App. You may withdraw your contributions by deleting your account.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content
Duksia operates a zero-tolerance policy towards objectionable content and abusive behaviour. The following are prohibited:
- hateful, discriminatory, violent or sexual content
- harassment, threats, and invasion of others' privacy
- spam, advertising, and repetitive or meaningless content
- knowingly false information about a place, or advice that puts people at risk
- photos and recordings that are not yours to publish
Reporting content
Every place and every recording carries a “⋯” button for reporting it. Reports go to our moderators; the author is never told who reported them.
A report is not a verdict — it is a request for review. The decision rests with a moderator.
Blocking someone
The same “⋯” button on a recording lets you block its author. You will no longer see their contributions. Blocking is immediate, private, reversible at any time from Account → Blocked people, and the blocked person is not told.
Blocking needs no approval from us: it protects you straight away, without waiting for a moderator.
Our commitment: 24 hours
We undertake to review reported content within 24 hours, to remove content that breaches these terms, and to eject from the App those who post it.
Sanctions
When a moderator upholds a report as abuse — spam, inappropriate content, or copyright infringement — a strike is recorded against the author's account.
At the third strike the account is suspended automatically: it can still browse the App, appeal, and delete its data, but it can no longer publish.
In severe cases an administrator may ban an account, after which the person can no longer sign in.
Honest mistakes — an incomplete description, a poor photo, a place already listed — never carry a strike.
Appealing a decision
Any suspension or ban may be appealed in writing to contact@duksia.com. We answer every request.
Because a banned account can no longer sign in, it can no longer delete its data from within the App: in that case your right to erasure is exercised at contact@duksia.com as well, and we act on it. That right is never withheld as a sanction.
Changes to the App and these terms
We may change the App and these terms. The effective date above indicates the latest version.
